Okowa approves 2 months stipend for widows

In keeping with the promise made by the Governor of Delta State Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to regularly pay widows their stipulated allowance as part of his measure in ensuring widow’s welfare in the state, the Governor has approved two months stipend for 5,607 enrolled widows across the 25 Local Government Areas of the state.
This was contained in a release in Asaba through the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Investment Programme(widows scheme) Chief Isioma Okonta.
Hon Okonta enjoined all the widows in the welfare scheme to attend their meetings by next week for the purpose of verification and authentication of their status before payment would be made to them.
By this statement, all the beneficiaries are advised to make themselves available at their various centres on a date to be communicated to them by their local government area coordinators.
