A group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has protested the continued delay in the release of results from the Okitipupa/Irele federal constituency House of Representatives primary election.
The protesters, operating under the platform of Aseyori, demanded the immediate announcement of what they described as the authentic outcome of the exercise conducted on Saturday.
Speaking during the protest, the group’s Director General, Olusegun Ayodele, stressed that the credibility of any election depends on whether the declared results accurately reflect the votes cast by party members.
He warned against any alleged attempt to manipulate the outcome, insisting that transparency and due process must guide the party’s internal electoral system.
According to Ayodele, failure to release the genuine results could damage confidence in the APC’s democratic process within the constituency and create unnecessary tension among party supporters.
The group maintained that preserving trust within the party requires openness and adherence to established electoral procedures.
