Ondo guber: Supreme Court Justices delivered sound, faultless judgment – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo has described the Supreme Court judgment of the state governorship election of October 10, 2020 as sound and faultless.
While saying that the APC was thrilled by the resolve of the apex court to uphold the decisions of the lower courts on the petitions filed by the PDP and its candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, the party maintained that “the truth is always constant.”
The APC said the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) should appeal to the Privy Council of the United Kingdom, “where the party and its governorship candidate take exception to the collapse of their petition.”
While emphasizing that APC sympathizes with the PDP over the internal crisis rocking the party, the Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Alex Kalejaye, in a statement, challenged the PDP to reorganize itself and present a productive opposition to the performing government.
Following the Supreme Court Victory, the APC urged Akeredolu and his deputy, Lucky Ayedatiwa “to put the legal gymnastics and distractions behind them, and focus on their selfless approach to governance, in the interest of every resident of the state, irrespective of party affiliations.”
“The APC family expresses profound appreciation to all the parties and stakeholders, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the legal teams, chieftains of the ruling party, and the electorate, for their contributions and support while the legal battle lasted.”
In a related development, the National Secretary of the APC, John James Akpanudoedehe, has commended the Governor Akeredolu’s Supreme Court Election Victory.
In a statement he issued in Abuja yesterday, Akpanudoedehe said “All Progressives Congress (APC) rejoices with the government and good people of Ondo State over Wednesday’s Supreme Court decision upholding the victory of Rotimi Akeredolu SAN in the last governorship election in the state.
“The apex court dismissed the appeal by Eyitayo Jegede and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on the grounds that it was incompetent.
“Fondly and popularly referred to as ‘Aketi’, the Governor Akeredolu administration is now poised to redouble the tempo of quality service delivery and consolidate its giant strides in the critical areas of education, healthcare delivery, infrastructure development, security, youth empowerment and industrialization.
“For many residents of the Sunshine State who joked that Akeredolu has turned the state into a busy construction site, it rings true for a man who is truly passionate about the development of his independent-minded, enlightened and progressive people and state.”
It said the Governor has followed up his people-oriented policies with several other developmental initiatives which are returning Ondo State to its deserved status and consolidating on the landmark and progressive legacies of late Chief Michael Adekunle Ajasin, the first civilian governor of the state.
