The Secretary to the Ondo State Government, (SSG), Oladunni Odu yesteday frowned at alleged moves by some persons to tarnish her image before President Bola Tinubu, in the build up to the governorship election in the state.
Odu was reacting to an online report alleging that she engaged in a heated argument with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa during a meeting.
In the report, the SSG was also alleged to have threatened to take action against the governor with the backing of the President.
However, in a statement she personally signed, the SSG said the online news platform and its backers want to create crisis in Ondo State.
She maintained that the report was not only false, but also a deliberate effort to mislead Tinubu.
While advising against dragging Tinubu into the state’s political matters, Odu described the report as a deliberate attempt to give the President a false impression.
“The report that I threatened to throw the governor out of office because I have President Tinubu’s backing can only come from someone who has no knowledge about the way governance works.
“How do you throw out a governor who has committed no obvious offence against the Constitution?
“If the online platform knows of any constitutional infraction committed by the governor that warrants his being thrown out, the online news platform should say so, but as for me, I don’t know any,” the SSG said in the statement
