The Rotary Club of Jalingo Prestige has presented an Award of Excellence to Iliya Kefas, Coordinator of Operation Keep Taraba Clean, in recognition of his outstanding work in environmental sanitation initiatives and community mobilization.

The award was presented at a ceremony held at Camp Lavet Hotels Jalingo, where the outgoing President of the Rotary Club, Rotarian Samuel Tari, praised Kefas for his commitment to driving organizational success through integrity, strategic leadership, and grassroots engagement.

“Kefas has led statewide environmental sanitation initiatives, mobilizing communities for sustainable waste management.

“He is a community leader with over 20 years of experience in mobilization, governance, and environmental management,” he said.

The ceremony also featured a handing over event, where Rotarian Tari handed over leadership of the Rotary Club to newly inaugurated President Rotarian Pinkai Bade Aloysius.

In his remarks, Iliya Kefas expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club for the award and pledged to continue serving the people of Taraba with dedication and integrity.

“This award is a spur to do more and serve the people better,” he said.

The program, titled #EngageKdBudget2026, targets to train 500 participants across Kaduna State.
