The people of Oron, one of the powerful and knowledgeable ethnic groups in Akwa Ibom State, Abuja branch has elected its new executive officers to pilot the affairs of the union for the next two years (2022-2024).
Barr. Remigius Edebianga, President Abuja branch of the union announced this in a statement he personally signed and issued in Abuja yesterday.
According to Barr Edebianga, the election which was observed by the President of the Akwa Ibom Community in Abuja, Barr. Aniefiok Ibah, was adjudged to be free, fair, credible, matured and peaceful in the history of the branch.
Announcing the results of the election, the Chairman of the Oron Union Abuja Branch for the 2022 Electoral Committee, Chief Superintendent of Police, (CSP) Hon. Eteyen Usin reeled out, and announced the following officers as duly elected and returned:
Barr. Remigius Edebianga-President, Ulap Ukpong O. Ukpong, VP1, Utang Nkoyo Eyo- VP2, Barr. Asukwo Unuyu- General Secretary, Comrade Joe Ben- Assistant General Secretary.
Others are; Ulap Anthony Edet- Financial Secretary, Ulap Nyong Umoh-Treasurer, Ulap Abednego Orok- PRO, Deaconess Ini Asam- Chief Welfare Officer, and Mrs. Ubong Atte- Provost Marshal.
