From Uche Nnorom, Makurdi

Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom yesterday flagged off his bid to contest the Senate seat for Benue North West Senatorial District in Gboko local government, traditional home of Tiv nation.

It would be noted that it is the country home of the National Chairman, Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP Dr. Iyorchia Ayu.

This is even as supporters of the party’s Presidential candidate Alh. Abubakar Atiku stormed the Joseph Tarka Stadium venue of the event with their branded vehicle, wearing his T-Shirt  and carrying his posters.

Ortom and four governors including Rivers State Nyesom Wike, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Seyi Makinde (Oyo) have been unanimous asking Ayu to resign as National chairman of PDP.
