The national chairman of Accord, Muhammad Lawal Nalado stated that the party has confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deliver a free and fair election ahead of the Saturday gubernatorial election in Osun.
He made this known yesterday while speaking to Peoples Daily exclusively where he said that INEC has been innovative and capable since the conduct of 2015 election, hence, capable of addressing vote buying like in the case of Ekiti and ensure it does not happen again.
The immediate past chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), further stated that the council has sent a team to educate and sensitize the people on the need for violent free election.
Nalado promised that if the party wins the election, it will tackle areas that the PDP government in the state has been found wanting.
“I know, no matter how much you have done as a sitting governor, I know there are areas that you lack, there are areas that you will be found wanting. So we are going to fill all these gaps that the present government has created”, he added.
Nalado believes that the party’s gubernatorial candidate is capable of doing better than what the present state government has done.
He further called on the security agents to be free to all, ensure that the election is secured and prevent vote buying during the election.
