Governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi, has denied having any anointed candidate among the aspirants in the forthcoming general election.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja shortly after undergoing screening exercise for the senatorial seat of his state, the Governor, who served two terms in office, said “I am not God, I do not anoint. I have no anointed candidate.
According to him “We have so many people who are eminently qualified and for me, I have given them free hands, let them talk to all party member and among themselves, I am okay. There is none of them who is not eminently qualified.”
Asked about the outcome of the screening, Ajimobi who is planning to contest for senate seat said “the screening is a normal process and it is just to access your eligibility, as well as ability to win and I think that has been done.
He disclosed that the party in the state has opted for indirect primaries to select candidates for the forthcoming elections.
