The National Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Metallurgical, Mining, and Materials Engineering (NIMMME), Engr. Professor Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, said the institution stands at the forefront of Nigeria’s engineering landscape.

Salawu stated this at the NIMMME 12th Inaugural National Chairman in Abuja.
Salawu said he acknowledged the profound challenges and opportunities ahead, emphasizing his commitment to lead the institution with integrity, vision, and dedication.
“Our institution stands at the forefront of Nigeria’s engineering landscape, playing a pivotal role in advancing the fields of metallurgy, mining, and materials engineering.
“As Chairman, I am firmly committed to advancing the mission and objectives of NIMMME, with a steadfast focus on excellence, innovation, and sustainability.”
Salawu outlined priorities including fostering greater collaboration and partnership, investing in education and capacity building, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the institution and the broader engineering community.
He congratulated the outgoing Chairman and urged members and executives to embark on the journey together with courage, determination, and a shared sense of purpose.
Earlier, the National President of the Society of Engineers, Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, emphasized the celebration of excellence and dedication in engineering, qualities exemplified by Professor Abdulrahman.
Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, representing Oguntala, praised Salawu’s professionalism, experience, and passion for advancing the engineering profession.”
