Over 1077 Undergo Training Under NDE Renewed Hope Employment Initiative In Benue

Over 1077 participants on Thursday commenced training in the National Directorate of Employment NDE, second phase of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative, RHEI in Benue State.

Flagging off the program in Makurdi, the State Co-ordinator, NDE Mr. Mathew Apochi Ubah said it is a clear demonstration of the willingness and commitment of the present management of NDE under the Director General Mr Silas Agara in fighting unemployment in the country as it is the core deliverable of the Renewed Hope Agenda, RHA of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said under the RHEI and RHA, the Directorate has recruited over 41,307 unskilled and unemployed persons across the country, adding that the beneficiaries are to undergo vocational, agricultural and entrepreneurial skills training with complementary transit jobs opportunities in the public works sector using over 30 different skills sets.

According to the Co-ordinator, areas of training include, Fashion Design, Hair Dressing, Catering, GSM Repairs, Leather Works, Food processing techniques for women, fish, poultry and Livestock production, organic farming, Solar Energy training and Graduate attachment programme.

Said he, “start – up capital, equipment and working tools will be provided for deserving participants at the end of the training while others will be linked to credit granting institutions to access loans to commence medium or large scale business.

“I urge the participants to give their maximum cooperation, support and commitmennt in order to ensure effective performance in programming delivery within timelines are achieved.

“Participants should be aware that constant monitoring/supervision will be carried out at various levels and those found wanting will be sanctioned accordingly”.

In her remarks, Mrs Aladi Achimugu, State Co-ordinator National Productivity Center said the training is the foundation for self development which will enable the beneficiaries Impact on society to achieve goals for which the programme is designed for, while also urging them to have a productivity and entrepreneurship mindset.

Mr Bartholomew Ben Amande, State Co-ordinator, Code of Conduct Bureau said advised the trainees to bring in innovation and creativity as they pursue thier dreams and passion.

A prominent business entrepreneur Kuma Aii Iyenge, Group Manager Director Maxwoody Tech said the training offers a big window to the trainees to be job creators and not job seekers, urging to look beyond the box of the training.

The programme which will last for three months according to Mr. Oche Adoga Head of Department, Rural Employment Promotion, REP NDE will focus on four core programmes including, Vocational Skills Department, VSD, Rural Employment Promotion Department, REP, Small Scale Enterprise Department, SSE AND Special Public Works, SPW Department.
