The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has expressed confidence that disagreements arising from the party’s governorship primary election will soon be resolved as efforts intensify to unite members ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking during a media briefing in Ibadan, Alli said the party had already constituted a reconciliation committee to engage aggrieved aspirants and restore cohesion within its ranks.
The briefing was attended by the APC deputy governorship candidate, Adesoji Adedeji, the state party chairman, Chief Moses Adeyemo, and other party leaders.
The senator acknowledged that dissatisfaction among some of the 11 aspirants who contested the APC governorship ticket was expected in a competitive contest, stressing that only one candidate could eventually emerge despite the quality of those who sought the nomination.
According to him, he has been holding meetings with aggrieved party members and aspirants, including some of the G6 group, to foster unity and build a formidable platform for the party’s bid to reclaim Oyo State in the 2027 election.
Alli maintained that the APC’s candidate selection process had been concluded, noting that the party had officially submitted his candidacy, while expressing optimism that ongoing reconciliation efforts would strengthen the party ahead of the polls
