A parent of five children based in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Yakubu Sani, has bemoaned the high fees being charged by schools in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
This is even as he accused the FCT Director of the Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB), Dr. Adamu Jatau Noma of failing to provide the needed facilities for both junior secondary and primary schools in the territory.
Sani, made this accusation while reacting to huge amount of money charged by the school principals across the junior secondary school in the FCT.
He expressed dismay that due to the high school fees charged by the principals, some parents found it difficult to send their children to the schools.
He, however, appealed to the authorities of the Secondary Education Commission (SEC) as well as UBEB to expedite action to stop the unnecessary fees charged by the school administrators.
“We the parents in the FCT are no longer happy the way things are moving in education sector” he said.
