The Adamawa State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)has assured the three lawmakers who defected from the All Progressives to the party of equal treatment, fairness alongside its old members.

The state chairman of the party, Chief Joel Madaki, who received the three legislators said “The party is happy to receive you into our fold as members of PDP. Irrespective of the fact that you are new entrants to the party, you will be treated equally with the old PDP members,” Madaki assured.

He disclosed that President Goodluck Jonathan and the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, were supposed to be in Yola sometimes back to receive defectors from other political parties into the PDP ,but postponed it because of the security challenges in the northeast.

He however said that adequate arrangements had been made to receive the three legislators and their supporters as well as the former Military Administrator of Lagos state, General Mohammed Buba Marwa, the former ACN gubernatorial candidate in the state, Engineer Markus Gunduri along with their supporters.

Madaki expressed happiness that Adamawa State is one of the states in the country that all their legislators are members of the same political party, pledging not to discriminate against new entrants and their supporters.

According to Leader of the Assembly, Ishaq Bala, the defecting legislators had come to register their loyalty and unalloyed support to PDP with the teeming members of their constituencies and would be ready to receive and comply with all directives to be issued to them for the progress of the party and the state.

Bala said with the defection of the three lawmakers, all the 25 lawmakers of the Adamawa State House of Assembly are now PDP members, and all of them have pledged to be faithful and loyal to the party.
