The Plateau State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has lambasted the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) over a video shared on social media platforms, which it said paints Governor Caleb Mutfwang in a bad light.
In a statement issued yesterday by the Party’s state Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jonathan Amande, the ruling party in the state said the video content which deliberately focused on Mutfwang’s personal and private matters, was not only deplorable but also showed the desperation of the APC’s disdain for decency, ethics, and truth.
Amande also accused the APC of moral bankruptcy and political frustration which has led it into indulging in acts which he described as the lowest of ‘political rascality.’
Amande said the action of the APC smirks of a “calculated attempt by its stakeholders to distract and diminish the glowing image of the people’s Governor.”
“It is shameful that a political party that once governed this state has degenerated to the level of trading in lies and personal attacks just to stay relevant.
“This barbaric display of hatred only reveals the depth of desperation and decay within the APC. Governor Mutfwang remains unshaken and committed to the noble task of rebuilding Plateau State.”
The state PDP emphasized that Gov. Mutfwang has continued to exemplify integrity, focus, and compassion in his leadership, virtues that have endeared him to the people across ethnic, religious, and political divides, noting that his vision for a greater Plateau remains unaltered despite attempts by opposition elements to smear his name through orchestrated propaganda.
“The PDP calls on Plateau citizens to ignore the falsehoods being peddled by the APC and instead stand firm in support of the administration’s development drive in areas such as digital infrastructure, agricultural reforms, and youth empowerment.
“We also call on APC stakeholders to stop the politics of bitterness and return to the table of ideas. The people of Plateau deserve progress, not propaganda; peace, not pollution of the mind.
“No amount of character assassination can stop the light of progress shining on Plateau under Governor Mutfwang’s leadership,” the statement added.
