The Taraba State candidates of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the just concluded local government elections swept all the 16 local government in the State.
Chairman, Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission, TSIEC, Chief Dr. Phillip Duwe disclosed at a press conference in Jalingo on Sunday.
He said all the six political parties has keenly participated in the elections.
He noted that 165 out of 168 contested councilorship seats participated in the elections across the 16 local government areas in the State.
Chief Duwe who expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the election, said results of the councilors were declared at the Ward collation centres while the chairmen were announced at the local government collation centres respectively.
“The results announced at the local government levels are legally valid and what we are doing here is just to validate what has been declared.
“I most appropriate the media for the balance reportage for the inset of this election to this point, despite the hard time you have display absolute commitment and resilience. You have served your father land excellently and you can hold your shoulder high.
“Election are meant to be won and lost. We call for patience from those who may feel grieved, we have a duty to sustain the peace we currently enjoy. Those who won this may be your good day but be humble and grateful to victory, if you have lost, it could be a bad day but the bad days will expire”.
