Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Youth Vanguard has strongly condemned the alleged attack on the President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign team and property belonging to the party by alleged All Progressives Change (APC) supporters in the state.
A statement signed and made available to newsmen by the chairman of the group, Alhaji Salisu Yusuf Majigiri said the attack has clearly demonstrated the desperation of the APC in the state to cause chaos in the state.
He noted that all political parties signed an accord in Abuja to conduct a peaceful campaign, but according to him the APC in Katsina was not ready to abide by the accord which he described as unfortunate.
Majigiri said “these are the kind of leaders that want to capture power. APC leaders in Katsina have severally through their actions and utterances demonstrated that they are all out to cause chaos and war in Katsina State”.
He therefore called on security agencies in the state to keep watch on the conduct of the opposition party and to protect PDP members and their property in the state.
Majigiri tasked PDP members to be law abiding and patient in the face of any provocation, as according to him their leader, Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Shema had cautioned them against any form of violence.
