PDP’s Rep Adigun defeats APC candidate to win another term in office

A member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East Federal Constituency, Abass Adigun, has been re-elected for a second term in office.
The election held on Saturday, 25th February 2023, was declared inconclusive due to some irregularities.
The supplementary election was held on Saturday in the constituency.
Adigun, who contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has, however, been declared the winner of the election.
He was declared elected after he polled 28,111 votes to win the supplementary election.
The INEC Returning Officer, Professor Benjamin Olley of the University of Ibadan, announced him as the winner at the Mapo Hall, the collation centre for the election.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Adedapo Lam-Adesina, polled 27,338 votes.
With this announcement, the APC has secured nine House of Representatives seats, while the PDP has secured five seats.
There are 14 House of Representatives seats in Oyo State.
