Plateau: 9 killed in another Wase attack

Date:

From Ado Abubakar Musa, Jos

For three successive days, crises continues to claim lives, as some unknown persons, suspected to be Tarok militia, yesterday continued to launch attacks on Wase town, in Wase local government area of Plateau state.

This is just coming as eight people were reportedly killed and many injured between Saturday and Sunday, when the people suspected to be Tarok invaded Wase town.

It was gathered that the clash between the two aggrieved parties of Tarok and Hausa/Fulani, which lasted for about five hours claimed seven persons and left many others seriously wounded.

Shapii Sambo, who is the Wase youth leader, confirmed the attack and narrated that,” the attackers came back today (Monday) around 1am, when people have not even regained peace in their minds from the fear of Saturday and Sunday attacks launched by Tarok assailants. We were able to repel them after a serious exchange of fire.”

Abdullahi Usaini, who is also a resident of Wase, said, “Today is the third attack launched on Wase in three consecutive days. We do not know the problem of Tarok people and the security in the area have not been doing anything to prevent the attackers from attacking us. We are always on the defending side. We do not launch attack on them.”
