The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) of Plateau and Nasarawa States have pledged collaboration with Benue State Government in the areas of disaster management.
Executive Secretary, Plateau State Emergency Agency, PSEMA Hon Sunday Abdu and his Nasarawa State counterpart Barr. Ben Akwash made the pledge while addressing newsmen at the NUJ house, Makurdi on Tuesday.
Hon Abdu who commiserated with Benue people over the killing of 200 persons in Yelwata by suspected armed herdsmen on June 13, 2025, lamented the aggression visited on the State by the marauders, maintaining that his state is also faced with such violent attacks
“We are here to commiserate with you on the killings. The kind of aggression meted on Benue State is same on Plateau. Let us pray for the North Central. We came to understudy Benue’s secret in disaster management. Benue has suffered a lot and we are here to comfort you”.
The Director-General, Nasarawa State Emergency Management Agency, NSEMA Barr Ben Akwash also condoled the people over the unfortunate incident in Yelwata.
