Police arrest suspect, 5 others for abducting neighbour’s child
Police operatives in Katsina have arrested seven suspects for alleged kidnap of an 8 year old child..
The 7-man kidnapping syndicate was nabbed on 23rd May 2026. Among them is the mastermind, Nura Aliyu, who is a neighbour to the victim. One other suspect is still at large.
On 13th May, the 8-year-old was kidnapped in Katsina and ₦50 million ransom demanded as ransom, but ₦17 million was paid for the release of the victim.
According to the police, a Peugeot 307 car, one Boxer motorcycle, and ₦7.5 million was recovered from the suspects.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ali Umar Fage, has commended the operatives for their diligence and professionalism.
