Police arrest three suspects linked to multiple kidnappings in Abuja

The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi has conducted a strategic operational tour of Gidandogo, Garam, and Kungabako villages in Bwari Area Council, located along the boundaries of Niger, and Kaduna States, as part of ongoing efforts to reinforce security in border communities.

During the tour, the Commissioner of Police personally led targeted operations, resulting in the interception and arrest of three suspects linked to multiple kidnappings in the territory.

The suspects are Nasiru Abdullahi, Samaila Dahiru, and Bello Usman.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Nasiru Abdullahi and Samaila Dahiru of Kweri village, Kaduna State, are responsible for the kidnapping of one Mallam Bako from his farmland in Gushawai village on 8th April 2026.

The victim was taken to Kweri forest, where a ransom of ₦50 million was demanded before his eventual rescue by operatives of the FCT Police Command Anti-Kidnapping Unit.

Further findings indicate that the suspects were part of the kidnappers who abducted twenty persons in Byazin.

Additionally, Bello Usman, a.k.a. Dagejo, a notorious informant and logistics supplier who had been on the Command’s watchlist for two years, was found to be actively coordinating with bandits from Kaduna State to support criminal operations within the FCT.

Upon his arrest, one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, and twelve rounds of live ammunition were recovered from him.
