Niger State Police Command said it has arrested one Usman Yahaya Muhammad of Kinboku-Kudu Village of Mokwa Local Government of culpable homicide.
While parading the suspects in Minna, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, said the suspect confessed to the crime, adding that he boarded the motorcycle of the victim to Eppa village and machetes the Okada rider to death.
Wasiu Abiodun said the suspect further confessed that he abandoned the corpse of victim and took the motorcycle away.
The suspect was set to get married this coming Friday before the ugly incident, hence according to findings, this is the 8 times the suspect has been involved in such crime.
Similarly, Niger State Police Command said it has recovered one AK 47 rifle with fourteen rounds of live ammunition and two magazines in Ibeto Magama Local Government of the state.
Niger State Commissioner of Police, Ogundele Ayodeji, stated this while reeling out the achievements of the command in Minna.
He said the police operatives attached to Ibeto received information that one Fatima Muhammad was sighted with an unknown person, adding that before the arrival of the police team some aggrieved mob lynched the unknown person and Fatima Muhammad.
Ogundele said the corpses were taken to Ibeto General Hospital, explaining that twenty eight suspects are currently under investigation ranging from different offences.
