Police nab kidnapper of medical doctor

The Delta State Police Command have arrested a suspected kidnap kingpin who specializes in kidnapping medical doctors working at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital,( DELSUTH)Oghara in Ethiope Local Government Area of Delta State.
The suspect, Desmond Ituje was apprehended by a crack team of the Police detectives who had been discreetly trailing him for months over his alleged involvement in high profile kidnap activities around the Oghara and Sapele area of the state
Desmond an alleged dreaded kidnapper and leader of a kidnapping syndicate in the area, led the arms wielding hoodlums who abducted the President of DELSUTH’s Resident Doctors in Oghara, Dr Jerry Isogun as the hoodlums ambushed and Kidnapped the victim to an unknown destination on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 while returning home from work on the Oghara- Mossogar Sapele axis of the Benin / Sapele highway
Aside Dr Isogun, kidnapping and robbery activities have made several staff of DELSUTH to abandon their duty posts as many workers in the area had suffered similar fate in the hands of the dreaded hoodlums who fleece victims of millions of naira ransom
But the state Police Commissioner, Hafiz Mohamed Inuwah who confirmed the arrest of Desmond to journalists in Asaba on Sunday, said that he was arrested during the week at his hideout and had been whisked to the state Police headquarters where he had allegedly confessed to his involvement in several Kidnapping cases in the area, adding that Desmond hails from Okpara waterside in Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state.
Inuwah said that documents belonging to the DELSUTH’s Resident Doctors leader, Dr Isogun Jerry were recovered from the suspect, Desmond Ituje, adding that he will be charged to court on completion of investigation.
