The Adamawa state Police Command has paraded 31 criminal suspects for committing various criminal offences across the state.
This is as the police in Benue paraded 18 suspected kidnappers in Benue.
Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Akande while parading the suspects in Yola, Monday said the suspects were apprehended in connection with culpable homicide, rape, causing grievous hurt, criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and many more.
CP Akande stated that the crime fighting strategies adopted by the command’s operatives attached to crack squad, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and various Divisional police headquarters is yielding results.
“Our operatives carried out tactical and intelligence-driven dusk to dawn raid on criminal hideouts and effected the arrest.
“The police will not relent in the manhunt of those suspects still at large”
He announced that all the criminal suspects will be charged to court for prosecution as soon as investigations are completed.”
Meanwhile, 18 persons suspected to be kidnappers have been arrested by the Police in Benue State.
Confirming the incident in a statement to the media, Police Public Relations’ Officer, PPRO SP Catherine Anene said they received information on 21st August,2022 at about 0730hrs of suspected kidnappers who were trying to bypass police checkpoints at Utonkon road, Ado Local Government Area.
She said Police officers were immediately deployed to the area.
“The criminals were arrested in collaboration with members of the community. The arrested suspects are indigenes of Ikpayongo, Gwer Local Government Area.”
According to her, items recovered from them include; one (1) AK-47 rifle and two (2) magazines loaded with thirty (30) rounds of 6.72mm live ammunition.
