The Kaduna State Police Command has disclosed the rescue of three kidnapped minors and arrest of three suspects, in connection with the crime.
Police added that the kidnapped children: Aslam Umar Lukman (14), Suleiman Umar Tanko (12), and Aliyu Umar Tanko (10), were abducted on August 25, 2025, and were held for ransom.
According to the police command, its strategic intelligence gathering and tactical communication, had lured one of the suspects, Richard Philip, out of his hideout and arrested him.
It added that during interrogation, Philip confessed to the crime and revealed that he conspired with one Ibrahim Ma’aruf and Abubakar Sadiq to kidnap the children.
It was gathered that acting on the credible intelligence, the police stormed the location, arrested the culprits, and rescued all three victims unhurt.
Our correspondent reports that the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, has since reunited the rescued children with their families.
Muhammad reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging parents to be vigilant.
He assured the public that all forms of criminality would be met with decisive action.
