Commander, Operation Zenda, (a joint operation in Benue State) Superintendent of Police, SP Felix Nomiyugh said his men secured the release of a 50 year old man.
The incident, according to him, happened at the weekend in Tine Nune, Zaki-Biam headquarter of Ukum local government area.
The Operation Commander who disclosed this when members of the Correspondents Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ paid a familiarization visit to his Command in Makurdi, on Tuesday.
He said his men discovered the man in a coma after his abductors had abandoned him, adding that the victim was later taken to the General Hospital, Zaki-Biam where he was relieved.
SP Nomiyugh also said since he assumed office on November 1st, 2023, he has recorded a lot of achievements especially in the release of many most abducted victims.
He further stated his resolve to work harder towards a crime+free society, maintaining that he has embarked on a policy of discipline amongst officers in his command.
“We are working hard to sensitize and re-orient the attitude of our officers. We want to be polite and neat. I am ready to collaborate with the media for effective crime control and reduction”, he promised.
