Governor Abdullahi Sule

From Gambo Ahmed, Lafia

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has provided assurances that all aspirants contesting under the All Progressives Congress (APC) will receive equal treatment during the party’s primary elections.
The Governor confirmed that the exercise will be conducted via direct primaries across all ward levels to ensure a transparent and inclusive process.
Speaking on Thursday at a press conference held at the NUJ Press Centre in Lafia, the Governor—represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Hon. Peter Ahemba—emphasized his commitment to a level playing field ahead of the House of Representatives primaries scheduled today.
The Governor stressed that as the leader of the party in the state, his priority is to maintain the integrity of the democratic process.
“Governor Sule has provided a ground for free and fair primaries across the state. Politicians should play the game according to the rules,” Ahemba stated.
He further warned that the administration, which prioritizes regional stability, would not tolerate any attempts to sabotage the elections.
“The government will not hesitate to clamp down on anyone planning to disrupt the exercise for their selfish interest,” he added.
To ensure a hitch-free exercise, the Governor highlighted key requirements and security measures as only genuine, registered APC members with stamped membership cards will be eligible to vote, and security operatives have been fully mobilized to various wards to ensure a smooth and peaceful conduct of the primaries.
Aspirants have been urged to caution their supporters against any acts capable of causing disunity.
Governor Sule concluded by calling on the media to act as a responsible watchdog by verifying information and providing accurate reports throughout the exercise.
