The new Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Minna Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta has expressed readiness to sustain and improve upon the development strides of his predecessors. 

Professor Kuta spoke in his inaugural speech as the 8th substantive Vice Chancellor of the university held at the Gidan Kwanu campus in Minna, Niger state.

He expressed concern that in about 40 years existence of the university, it is only able to accommodate 3,304 students out of the over 26,000 due to shortage of accommodation in the campus. 

 Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta said he will redouble efforts at improving the revenue drive through blocking of all leakages and wastages to augment whatever comes from the Federal Government for maximum benefit.

In his speech, Pro Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council FUT Minna Prof Olu Obafemi said the gathering was a bye product of a metriculous selection process that brought in the new Vice Chancellor and gave an assurance that they wiil continue to keep the flag of the university high.

Outgoing Vice Chancellor, Prof Abdullahi Bala called on members of council staff and students of the university to extend the support and cooperation given to him to the new Vice Chancellor to enable him succeed in his new assignment.
