Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani on Sunday flagged off two major road projects in a sweeping infrastructure drive that is already being described as a historic for neglected communities.

In Makarfi Local Government Area, Governor Sani broke a jinx that spanned the entire El-Rufai era — the absence of a single kilometre of asphalt road — by performing the groundbreaking for the Durum–Kuruntumawa Road Project. The new road is expected to end decades of isolation for the people of Makarfi, opening access for farmers, traders and residents.

The Governor also flagged off the Hunkuyi Junction–Unguwan Rimi–Basawa Junction Road Project, linking Kudan LGA to Sabon Gari LGA. The strategic road is designed to enhance commerce, ease movement, and strengthen social and economic ties across the two zones.

Speaking at the ceremonies, Governor Sani said the projects reflect his administration’s vision of inclusive development and equitable infrastructure delivery. “We are determined to ensure that no community in Kaduna State is left behind. Roads are lifelines of the economy, and these projects will open up opportunities for our people,” he said.

Residents and community leaders at the events hailed the Governor for what they described as a long-awaited intervention. Many noted that beyond easing travel, the projects would expand markets, attract investment, and improve overall quality of life.

The flag-offs mark another milestone in Uba Sani’s ongoing infrastructure blitz, which aims to transform Kaduna’s road network, bridge development gaps, and bring growth to communities that were previously overlooked.
