The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Port and Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Area Command, has called on stakeholders in the trade sector to comply fully with the operational procedures of the National Single Window platform to ensure efficient and transparent trade processes.
The call was made during a three-day sensitisation programme organised by the Service in collaboration with the National Single Window Project Secretariat on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.
The engagement focused on strengthening stakeholder awareness, addressing knowledge gaps, and promoting effective utilisation of the newly introduced digital trade platform.
Speaking during the session, the Customs Area Controller of the PTML Command, Comptroller Joe Anani, described the National Single Window as a critical national initiative that requires the cooperation of all actors within the trade value chain.
“This is not just a single window for one agency; it is a national project. The ongoing sensitisation is essential to safeguard the system and ensure adherence to laid-down standards,” he said.
He emphasised that enforcement mechanisms are already in place to prevent abuse and protect the integrity of the platform, urging stakeholders to fully align with the established procedures.
“I urge you to use this platform to learn, test its features, and seek clarification where necessary,” Anani added.
Also speaking, the Comptroller ICT/ Modernisation Unit, Comptroller Christopher Fanyam, highlighted the importance of sustained post-launch sensitisation to ensure smooth implementation of the initiative.
According to him, the platform simplifies regulatory processes by providing a single digital interface through which traders can obtain approvals from relevant government agencies.
“The platform allows users to process approvals from agencies such as the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria through one portal,” he said.
Fanyam added that the ongoing sensitisation sessions focus on practical aspects of the system, including portal access, navigation of its features, and proper documentation procedures.
The programme forms part of ongoing efforts by the National Single Window Project Secretariat to consolidate gains from the platform’s launch, improve trade efficiency, reduce delays, and enhance the ease of doing business in Nigeria.
