According to Haruna, “Iddo Community was in existence before the Nigeria got her Independence, adding that Iddo was in existence before the Capital of Nigeria was relocated from Lagos to Abuja”.
He then expressed with dismay the manner at which the Nigerian Navy, as well as the Nigerian Army have been encroaching into the People’s land anyhow in the territory without meeting with the traditional rulers.
“Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Army should give the compensation to the indigenes or farmers in the FCT before encroaching into their farm land”, he said.
He, therefore, pleaded with the residents of Iddo Community to shun any act capable of generating tension in the community, and charged the government of the day to prevent the country’s security agencies from claiming the people’s farm land.
