Radda Charges New Kadis to Uphold Justice With Integrity, Fairness

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has sworn in two new Kadis of the Upper Sharia Court of Katsina State, charging them to uphold justice with integrity, fairness, and the fear of Allah.

The newly sworn-in Kadis are Kadi Ibrahim Abdullahi Yakubu Dandume and Kadi Bala Salisu Daura, whose appointments were recommended by the National Judicial Council (NJC) and approved by Governor Radda.

He reminded them that the oath of office they have taken is a sacred trust before God and humanity.

Radda congratulated the newly appointed Kadis, describing their appointments as another important milestone in strengthening the administration of justice and consolidating public confidence in the Sharia judicial system.

He noted that the appointments would further enhance the capacity of the judiciary to deliver timely, fair, and impartial justice to the people of Katsina State.

“On occasions like this, I do not usually make a lengthy speech because whatever I am going to say has already been contained in the oath of office you have just taken. If you carefully reflect on that oath, there is hardly anything more that needs to be said. You know the responsibility you have accepted, and you know what you have sworn to uphold,” he stated.

The Governor emphasized that the dispensation of justice remains fundamental to peace, stability, and harmonious coexistence in every society, urging the newly sworn-in Kadis to discharge their duties with absolute fairness, integrity, and the fear of Allah.

“At a critical time like this, when the fair and impartial dispensation of justice is essential to peace, harmony, and peaceful coexistence, you have a great responsibility to serve the people and the State with integrity, fairness, and the fear of Allah,” he said.

Radda also commended the Katsina State Judiciary under the leadership of the Chief Judge for its continued dedication to justice delivery, assuring judicial officers of his administration’s unwavering support.

The Governor stressed that sustaining peace and security in Katsina State requires the collective commitment of every institution, particularly the judiciary, whose role in ensuring justice remains indispensable.

“At this critical stage in the development of our State, all of us must rise to the occasion to ensure that peace, justice, and security continue to prevail across Katsina State. Every one of us has a role to play in building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous State,” he said.

He prayed for Allah’s guidance and protection for the newly appointed Kadis, expressing confidence that they would discharge their constitutional responsibilities with diligence, courage, and impartiality.

He further called on all citizens to remain united in supporting the progress and development of Katsina State.

“We do not have any State better than Katsina. Therefore, all of us must continue to work together, cooperate with one another, and remain united in making Katsina State a better place for all our people,” the Governor concluded.

Kadi Ibrahim Abdullahi Yakubu Dandume began his judicial career in 1992 as a Registrar in both the Magistrate and Sharia Courts before rising through the ranks to become Upper Sharia Court Judge I. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in Common and Islamic Law from Bayero University, Kano, alongside several professional certifications. He has also made scholarly contributions to Islamic jurisprudence through research on the administration of Sharia justice in Katsina State.

Similarly, Kadi Bala Salisu Daura has served the Katsina State Judiciary for more than three decades, rising from Assistant Registrar to Upper Sharia Court Judge II. A graduate of Al-Nahda International University with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in Sharia and Civil Law, he is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Law and has participated in numerous judicial training programmes, including courses on judicial ethics, Islamic jurisprudence, and judicial administration.
