The Abakwa Orphanage Foundation yesterday distributed food items to over 200 widows as Ramadan gifts.
The Foundation said such women need assistance to enable them carry out their religious duties in this holy month.
The Foundation Chairman and Chief Imam of Abakwa Community, Ustaz Abubakar Imam also called on other wealthy individuals in the society to always assist orphans and widows.
According to him, Islam very much encourage Muslims to see orphans as their own.
“ Those who help the orphans and widows in the society Allah will rewards them abundantly. This is why we encourage fellow wealthy Muslim brothers and sisters to take advantage of this by assisting this category of people,” he said.
In his remarks, Abakwa Village Head Aliyu Auta commended the Foundation for a job well done.
