The Zinariyan Lokoja, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu has extended sympathy to victims of a boat accident in Kogi state with nearly 200 passengers that claimed lives of some of the passengers.

Aliyu in a statement said, “I am deeply saddened to hear about the tragic boat mishap that occurred in Kupa Ebbe Village in Kupa South Local Government Area of Kogi State, resulting in the loss of precious lives.

“My heartfelt condolences go out to the families and loved ones of the victims. I can only imagine the pain and grief you must be going through, and I want you to know that you are not alone in this difficult time.”

She also sympathised with the people of Kogi state and the nation who have been affected.

She commended the government for its intervention while urging them to provide aid to those affected and investigate the incident to forestall future occurrences.

“I call on the government to take immediate action to provide support and assistance to the affected families. While commending the government for its rescue and recovery efforts, I urge that adequate medical care for the injured, and financial support to help the families rebuild their lives should be considered.

“Furthermore, I urge the government to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the mishap and take concrete steps to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future,” She added.
