Rasmus Højlund has bade farewell to Manchester United after his loan spell at Italian Serie A , Napoli was made permanent.
Højlund’s loan deal to Napoli was automatically made permanent following their UEFA Champions League qualification. Napoli defeated Pisa 3-0 on Sunday to deal their Champions League slot
The Italian ls are expected to pay United United £34 million which could increase to £38 million in total packages
The striker on Monday took to social media to say goodbye to the United fans declaring “I am now officially a Napoli player”
He said that playing for Manchester United fulfilled his childhood dream and expressed gratitude to Napoli fans for their warm reception since his loan deal last year
“I’m now OFFICIALLY a Napoli player and I’m saying goodbye to Manchester United”.
“That feels weird, because for the past year I already feel like a Napoli player. The way you fans supported me, made me feel like home and let me find my confidence again is something I’m so grateful for”.
“To say goodbye to Manchester United is something that kinda feels EMOTIONAL too. My childhood dream came true by playing at Old Trafford in a red jersey”.
“So the goal today symbolizes a new confident start, in which I will give everything for the time ahead to Napoli, and a thank you to all the fans, players and staff of Manchester United who made the dream I had as a kid come true. It’s time for new dreams, so let’s chase them”., he concluded.
The 23 years old joined United from Atalanta in 2023 but failed to establish himself at the club.
