Reactions trail INEC’s suspension of Adamawa governorship supplementary election

The suspended collation of the Adamawa state governorship supplementary election by the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC, has continued to generate reactions from stakeholders for the umpire to intervene.
It would be recalled that,the governorship election was conducted on the 18th February and was declared inconclusive and rescheduled for a rerun election on 15th April which was controversially announced halfway by the embattled Resident Electoral Commissioner,REC. Hudu Yunusa Ari that Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani of the APC won the governorship polls in the state.
In a press statement signed and issued by Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe in Yola Monday described as “sad” development which deserved condemnation in the interest of peace and justice.
Senator Yaroe representing Adamawa South opined that INEC needs to urgently take steps to repair its damaged reputation by investigating in to the matter wholly with a view to taking necessary legal action against anyone found wanting.
“INEC needs to urgently take steps to redeem its damaged reputation by handling over Mallam Hudu for thorough investigation and subsequent prosecution for attempting to cause an insurrection in Adamawa state.
Similarly in his reaction to the incident, the Social Democratic Party, SDP Governorship candidate, Dr.Umar Ardo said the political imbroglio over the governorship rerun election was a “naked dance of shame in the market place”.
