Members of the Concern Group of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bauchi State.chapter, have declared that Senator Samaila Dahuwa Kaila of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will not be allowed to defect to their party (APC).
The APC members made it clear that the Senator is not welcomed in their party.
Allowing Senator Kaila to defect to APC, the group said, will send a wrong signal to the party’s members and the general public.
They further stated that allowing the Senator to decamp to the APC will discourage the party’s members who have worked tirelessly to build the party.
The Concern Group thus urged the APC leadership to reject Senator Kaila’s defection bid and uphold the principles of meritocracy and loyalty that the party stands for.
The group, in a statement signed by Comrade Shehu Mohammed, said, “We, the concerned members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, are shocked and dismayed by the news of Senator Samaila Dahuwa Kaila’s intention to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to our great party.
“Senator Kaila’s track record in the PDP is nothing short of underwhelming.
During his tenure, he has failed to deliver meaningful projects and development to his constituency, Bauchi North. His constituents have been neglected, and his performance has been a source of disappointment to the good people of Bauchi North.
“It is evident that Senator Kaila’s decision to defect is driven by selfish interests, particularly the quest for an automatic ticket.
“We, the APC members, want to make it clear that we will not welcome him into our party with open arms. His actions are a clear indication of his lack of loyalty and commitment to any political party or the people he purports to represent.
“Allowing Senator Kaila to defect to APC will send a wrong signal to our members and the general public. It will discourage our members who have worked tirelessly to build the party and reward a legislator who has demonstrated gross incompetence and lack of commitment to his constituency.
“We urge the APC leadership to reject Senator Kaila’s defection bid and uphold the principles of meritocracy and loyalty that our party stands for. We will not support any action that undermines the integrity of our party”, the statement concluded.
