Relief as missing lawyer/ NYSC Member, Linda Ameh, is found in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed that Ms. Linda Ameh, a corps member and legal practitioner declared missing last week, has been found safe.
​The breakthrough was announced on Sunday, by FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh.
Recall that Ameh had been the subject of an intense search since her disappearance on Wednesday, May 6.
According to the police statement, Ameh personally reported to the Maitama Police Station following her ordeal.
She is currently providing authorities with a detailed account of the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
​“The FCT Police Command wishes to inform the public that Ms. Linda Ameh… has been found and personally reported to the Maitama Police Station to provide details of the incident,” SP Adeh confirmed.
​While the specific details of her disappearance have not yet been made public, the police emphasized that a criminal investigation is underway.
According to the FCT Police spokesperson, detectives are working to identify and apprehend those responsible for the incident.
She added that Ameh is reportedly assisting investigators with “useful information” to fast-track the arrest of the suspects.
​Ameh, who is currently undergoing her mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Abuja, had recently balanced her legal background with a new role as a Sales Manager at Blades and Butchers Ltd, a livestock firm in Maitama.
​The alarm was raised when she failed to return home after leaving work on May 6. Concerns grew rapidly after her mobile phones were switched off, and no contact was established for several days.
​The lack of communication from any kidnappers left her family in a state of “traumatic” uncertainty.
The news of her safety has brought a wave of relief to the NYSC community, her legal colleagues, and her family.
Prior to her being found, social media had been flooded with appeals for information regarding her whereabouts.
The police have assured the public that they remain committed to ensuring the safety of residents in the FCT and will see the investigation through to its logical conclusion.
