Remain role models, engaged in communities – FCTA admonishes retirees

The FCT Administration has encouraged its retired management staff to remain engaged in their communities, share your wealth of experience, and continue to be role models for the next generation.
Also, the FCTA declared that the government looks forward to the continued contributions they will make in their post-retirement life, as retirement is not the end of the journey but the beginning of a new chapter filled with new opportunities.
Making this point in his Keynote address at an occasion to honor retired management staff of the FCT Administration, yesterday, Dr. Udo Samuel Atang, the Head Of Civil Service, said the retirees contributions have shaped the development and progress of the FCT.
He said: “Today is a day of reflection, gratitude, and celebration—a day to recognize the dedication, commitment, and invaluable contributions of individuals who have served this administration with distinction.
Your careers have been marked by diligence, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to the principles of public service.The impact of your work will be felt for years to come. The policies you helped craft, the projects you oversaw, and the initiatives you championed have all contributed to the growth and development of the FCT. Your legacy is not just in the work you have done, but in the people you have mentored, the teams you have led, and the standards of excellence you have set.
“The FCT Administration is proud to have had the privilege of working with you, may your retirement be filled with joy, good health, and fulfillment.
“We encourage you to remain engaged in your communities, share your wealth of experience, and continue to be role models for the next generation.”
Ealier, in her remarks,the acting director, FCT Department of Reform Coordination and Service Improvement, Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, explained that FCT Administration decided and commenced in 2023, the organization of community send-forth ceremonies for management staff who have spent either clocked 35 or 60 years in the service.
She added that the initiative provides the government the singular an opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of the outgoing management staff to the administration and the community.
“Organizing community send-forth ceremonies for management staff at the Federal Capital Territory Administration is important for acknowledging achievements, fostering unity, promoting employee well-being, and communicating organizational goals.
“These ceremonies play a crucial role in building a positive work culture and ensuring smooth transitions within the organization”, she stated.
