A Member representing Isiukwato, Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State, Amobi Ogah, has revealed that he is appealing the ruling of the election tribunal sitting in Umuahia, Abia State which nullified his election on Wednesday.
The National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Umuahia, Wednesday, sacked Hon. Amobi Ogah of the Labour Party, and declared the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, the winner of the February 25 National Assembly poll, and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Ogah and issue a fresh one to Onyejeocha.
But Hon. Ogah, in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja said, his opponent, did not win the election and the judge cannot announce a result presented by the petitioner as concrete against the result presented by INEC.
He said, “My attention has been drawn to the ruling of the election tribunal sitting in Umuahia, over my victory at the National Assembly polls
“ I want to state categorically and for the records that, I will appeal the judgment by the tribunal as soon as I conclude with my legal team. “
