The Special Task Force (STF), restoring peace in Jos have been accused of invading the residence of  one Alhaji Jibril Mazadu, located at Filin Sukuwa area of Jos-North local government area of Plateau state and harassed residents of the house.

This was disclosed by a gate man of the house, Malam Hussaini Yakubu, who was allegedly beaten up by the STF personnel in the area.

A source revealed that the soldiers, who went to the said house, were conveyed in an STF Hilux van, led by one Lt. Col. Bobbo, who is allegedly presently serving in Yobe state.

Jibrin, Yusha’u Mazadu, who is younger brother to Mazadu narrated that he was told that the soldiers have invaded his brother’s house and that as soon as he reached the area he saw that the gate man lying on the ground.

“I was told that they would shot at him (his brother) had they got him in the house. My other fear was that they have entered into every room in the house and I wouldn’t know what they must have planted in side.”

He further said the only thing he knew was that he was aware that there was a land dispute between the person that had sold a parcel of land to his brother and the soldier and that the issue  had since been reported to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), in charge of Anguwan Rogo, and that the issue had been resolved.

When contacted to confirm the allegation, the Media/Information officer of the STF, Captain Ikedichi Iweha, said the STF commander was not aware of the action.
