President Muhammadu Buhari represented by Kebbi state governor Sen. Atiku Bagudu yesterday said more rice pyramid is expected to extend to local government council areas.
He stated this during the flagging off of north east dry season rice cultivation organized by the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria held at the new trailer park Bauchi road in Gombe.
The President assured of government commitment.
He said since the assumption of the present administration in 2015, the priority of government was to enhance the agricultural sector.
In his remark, governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya who hosted the event said Gombe state government is working tirelessly to improve the standard of agriculture.
He appreciated president Buhari for taking agricultural sector as one of his priority.
Speaking earlier, the national president of Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria Alhaji Aminu Mohammed Goronyo in his welcome address assured that Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) in the north east zone will do as much as possible to increase its productivity.
