The Director General / Chief Executive Officer of Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) Prof Nnanyelugo M. Ike. Muonso, has promised to work with the National Apex of Nigerian Farmers’ co-operative Society Limited (NANFACOS) in order to boost food production in the country.
Ike-Muonso, who made the pledge when the management of NANFACOS paid a courtesy visit to him In his office in Abuja.
He also promised to link-up the management of NANFACOS to the Bank of Agriculture as well as the Bank of Industry where the necessary assistance and support will be given to the Farmers’ Co-operative Society Limited.
The RMRDC Chief Executive Officer, therefore, thanked the management of NANFACOS for the efforts made to present the challenges facing the Nigerian farmers during the visit.
Speaking earlier, the National president of NANFACOS, said the purpose of the visit was to seek the assistance of RMRDC on how to get Agricultural inputs, materials and equipment at affordable prices.
He pleaded with the Director General of RMRDC to involve the management of NANFACOS in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) so as to have access to funding / financing as well as empowerment.
