The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has vowed to connect communities hitherto disconnected from the Federal Capital City due to non and functional access road network.
Wike bemoaned that most of the roads that supposed to link the satellite towns to the city were abandoned by previous leaders of the DCT Administration.
He made this point Tuesday at the flag off of the construction of 15 kilometre road from A2 junction, off Abuja – Lokoja road to Pai in Kwali Area Council.
He explained that since the creation of FCT in 1976 enough has not been done in providing roads which would have connect the satellite towns to the city.
According to him, the projects would not be abandoned because president Tinubu has been providing the necessary support that will aid in connecting the people through infrastructure delivery.
Wike also opined that with access road in rural areas insecurity will also be addressed.
“People talk about insecurity because of non access road, but with good road there won’t be insecurity in communities.
“Since the creation of FCT In 1976, there is a total disconnect of the satellite towns from the city, but Tinubu renewed hope agenda is connecting the people through infrastructure delivery.
“All the projects and promises that we made under Tinubu’s administration through us will not be abandoned”, he stressed.
He however, called on the residents to continue to support Tinubu in his effort to providing infrastructure in the city.
