Rural community tasked on healthy living practices

In a bid to adequately educate rural dwellers on the importance of good environment and food for a good health and living, officials of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Health Insurance Scheme has embarked on sensitization tour of communities in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

Addressing a cross section of residents of Kabusa community, who were at his palace to partake of the awareness campaign, were encouraged by His Royal Highness, Yohanna Koche, to key into the scheme.

According to the monarch who described the initiative as imperative, “With periodic health sensitization programmes such as this, many minor diseases and sickness that people at the grass-root level suffer as a result of ignorance will be tackled head-on.”

The traditional ruler however thanked the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed and the Executive Secretary, FCT Human and Health Secretary (HHSS), Dr. Demola Onakomaiya, for demonstrating great commitment towards improving the health of the people, especially rural dwellers in the FCT.
