Kaduna State Government said it has set a code of conduct for food vendors enlisted in the State School Feeding Program.
The Special Adviser to Governor Uba Sani on the School Feeding Program, Dr.Fauziya Buhari Ado, stated this during the median Food Vendors Award Day Presentation held in Kaduna.
Dr.Fauziya explained that the new code of conduct required cooks to undergo medical checks, and set hygiene standards to ensure food safety.
He added that vendors will also undergo training on food safety and hygiene.
According to her, the majority of the beneficiaries of the program are the children of the most vulnerable in the society.
She disclosed that during the course of her engagements and interactions with them, she witnessed their happiness, gratitude, and satisfaction through their remarks and prayers.
However, some have also expressed dissatisfaction with the services provided by certain vendors.
“Our collective success is measured by the happiness and health of the children. We achieve success when the children are happy, healthy, and have met the nutritional requirements necessary for them to thrive in their academic endeavors.”
