Two kidnappers have lost their lives during a gun battle with security operatives in Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State midweek while an equal number escaped with different degrees of bullet wounds.
Reports have it that kidnapping activities have wrecked havoc on innocent preys in recent times within the area of their operations which have kept security operatives on their trail.
Chairman Idah Local Government area, Hon. Abuh Odoma who confirmed this to press said that with the support received from the State governor, they have continued to secure victories over some of the marauding beasts.
He reasserted the commitment of the local government to ensuring, as declared by the State governor in their several meetings, that every nook and cranny of the state was guaranteed safety.
In his reaction, the State Security Adviser, Commodore Jerry Omodara stressed the need for continued vigilance by citizens particularly those within the rural communities.
He added that the business of security required collective responsibility by every stakeholder, hence all hands must be on deck to ensure that the entire state was permanently rid of criminal elements and their sponsors.
He lauded the state government under the leadership of Governor Bello who has consistently displayed his commitment to security matters that have rocked the state in recent times.
