President Muhammadu Buhari has been commended for citing a new Police Zonal Command headquarters (Zone 13) in Anambra state.
The President also got a recommendation for the progress of works on Second Niger bridge and Enugu – Onitsha Expressway.
Commending the President over the developments, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, said he was particularly happy that the President found Ukpo community in Danukofia LGA worthy of hosting the Zone 13 of the Zonal headquarters of the Nigerian Police Force.
Also commending the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, Sen Ubah recalled that the development was historic because Anambra state was just getting its first Zonal Command 25 years after its creation.
He said: “undoubtedly, security is a key enabler of development I’m every functional society. The creation of Zone 13 in Ukpo, Danukofia LGA is the last piece of the puzzle to achieve a holistic and comprehensive security apparatus which will strengthen Anambra state and the entire south eastern zone’s capacity to tackle prevailing security challenges.”
On the Enugu – Onitsha Expressway, the Senator the commendation became imperative when viewed against the role the road would play in the entire Eastern states in their economic development.
He said the Road, which after completion would facilitate seamless movement among the states in the region, he added that it would connect five states of the eastern Nigeria.
On the second Niger bridge, he further commended the President on the speed of work on the second Niger bridge.
“It is also on record that 48℅ work has been achieved in the second Niger bridge project. This is an epoch making project that will further open up our economic gateway and foster sustainable development in the Southeast.”
