The Senate at its plenary on Thursday confirmed Usman Dakingari for appointment as Non-Career Ambassador.
This followed the consideration of the report of its Committee on Foreign Affairs, which was presented by the chairman, Senator Bello Sani Abubakar representing Niger North.
Similarly, the Senate also confirmed Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf for appointment as Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
In another development, the Senate equally confirmed the nomination of Rear Admiral Jamila Abubakar-Sadiq (Rtd) for appointment as National Electoral Commissioner (NEC) representing North East in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Her confirmation followed the consideration of the report of the Committee on Electoral Matters presented by the chairman, Senator Simon Bako Lalong (Plateau South).
Lalong said the committee screened the nominee and gave due consideration to her level of exposure, experiences, performances, qualifications and integrity and recommended that the senate do confirm the nomination of Rear Admiral Jamila Abubakar Sadiq (rtd) as the National Electoral Commissioner.
